The Challenge
The town of Dedham wanted to create a place for residents and businesses to quickly get updates and information about the on-going improvement projects in Dedham Square. They also wanted the site to be super easy to update so that on-site engineers could upload content via their mobile devices from the field.
The Solution
The town of Dedham teamed with their existing website provider, Getfused, to set up this mini-site that would serve as a community for residents to receive and share information about the improvements as well as plan their travel to the square accordingly. The site is integrated with Dedham Square Project’s social channels such as Flickr, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, allowing field engineers to update 90% of the website right from their mobile phones, while providing an additional avenue for residents and businesses to keep up to date with the timely information. The site also offers a digital newsletter so residents and businesses can be informed of the major progress and updates being made on a monthly basis.
Results
Residents and businesses can now get timely updates about what is happening with the improvement project, seeing progress through photos and videos uploaded to the site and social media channels. This social to website integration allows users to connect to the rest of the Dedham community and for field engineers to provide the most timely information, updating everything from their mobile devices.
