Getfused worked with the Massachusetts’ Biotechnology Council to create an iPhone application and mobile website to bring the best of massbio.org to mobile users. Available in the iTunes store in December 2011 and from your mobile web browser at: http://m.massbio.org.
Getfused was tasked with creating a mobile application and mobile site that would bring the best of MassBio directly to members on the go. MassBio is a not-for-profit organization that represents and provides services and support for the Massachusetts biotechnology industry. Services range from sponsoring events that bring critical information to the biotech industry to helping member organizations reduce costs through their purchasing consortium. The challenge came in deciding what content would be most useful for the mobile site and application and optimizing the user experience for the content that was in highest demand.
Getfused performed an extensive review of analytics of massbio.org - including most viewed content and site traffic patterns - to discern the most widely consumed content categories by MassBio members, the intended audience for the mobile offerings. The review indicated that users were most interested in and came back most frequently for information on upcoming events, news, the MassBio Directory and to view the career opportunities posted to the MassBio site by member organizations.
Based upon the analytical research, the mobile user experience team at Getfused was able to leverage this information and create wireframes optimized for bringing the most desired information to mobile devices. The Getfused mobile design team was able to extend the MassBio brand to the mobile application and mobile site bringing together the brand and user experience to create an optimized experience for users. The mobile site and application were developed and built for both performance and usability.
MassBio members are able to access valuable information from their mobile devices quickly and effectively with the mobile tools created by Getfused. To access the mobile website, visit m.MassBio.org from any mobile device. The iPhone app will be available for download in the iTunes store soon.
“The life sciences community is on the move and MassBio wants to be right there with them,” said MassBio President & CEO Robert K. Coughlin. “The MassBio website has grown into a real hub of industry information and we are excited to take it to the next level with our mobile offerings.”
