News - LegalSeafoods.com ranks third in industry magazine study

September 12, 2006 - Local Web services company Getfused, Inc. was recognized for its role in designing the Legal Sea Foods site by Hospitality Technology magazine.

The site, www.legalseasfoods.com, earned perfect scores on general layout, visual appeal and ease of use and navigation. The site was also lauded for its use of flash animation, audio clips and video files. The site is also accessible and compliant under Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. Legal Sea Foods was the first restaurant in the country to be accredited by the National Federation of the Blind for their Web accessibility.
“The team at Getfused was able to really understand what made our retail model so successful and translate that to the Web,” said Ken Chaisson, Vice President, Information Technology  “They were able to take our wish list and create a custom-designed, user-friendly Web system that has been very successful in growing the Legal Sea Foods online business.”

Legal Sea Foods was nominated for the analysis by Hospitality Technology readers. The magazine evaluated the site on 400 specific criteria in seven categories: technical specifications, technology used, site attractiveness, ease of navigation, ease of contact, marketing effectiveness, e-commerce solutions and legal compliance. The site scored 215 points out of a possible 299, beating out sites for restaurants like Applebee’s, International House of Pancakes and Firehouse Subs.
